Nunavut Arctic College hosts 52nd College Chemistry Canada (C3) Conference in Iqaluit

Organized by NAC’s Pre-Health Sciences and Nursing Department and supported by teams from across the college and the Iqaluit community, the conference marked the first time in C3’s history that the event was held in Nunavut and within Inuit Nunangat. The 2026 theme, “Chemistry for All,” highlighted inclusive and culturally grounded approaches to science education.

Nunavut Arctic College was pleased to participate in the Assembly of First Nations (AFN) Education Forum in Vancouver, supporting Nunavut Teacher Education Program (NTEP) students as they engaged with Indigenous education leaders from across Canada. 

Throughout the forum, participants highlighted shared priorities for Indigenous education, including Indigenous language revitalization, culturally grounded curriculum, and self-determined education systems led by Indigenous communities.

Social Service Worker Students put Social Justice in Action with "Rise Up! ᒪᑭᑎᕆᓐ! ᒪᑭᒋᐋᕐᖕᓂᖅ !"

As part of the Social Service Worker Program, Year 2 students take a course called Practicum: Social Justice in Social Service. As the course suggest, it is a time for them to put social justice into action in their respective communities. This year students in Cambridge Bay, NU and Rankin Inlet, NU have decided to join up to work together on a project. This year's campaign is called: Rise Up!

Meet our Bachelor of Social Work, Nunavut Cohort

The first cohort of six students are extremely engaged, passionate, and proud to be furthering their education in social work. Faculty from our school have been travelling to Nunavut to teach in the program and, at the same time, have enhanced their understanding of Inuit culture, history, and social context.

Les six étudiantes et étudiants de la première cohorte sont extrêmement motivés et passionnés, et ressentent une grande fierté à l’idée de poursuivre leur formation en travail social. S’étant déplacés au Nunavut pour donner le programme, les membres du corps professoral ont pu acquérir une meilleure compréhension de la culture, de l’histoire et du contexte social du peuple inuit.
